It is with great sadness that we inform you that Inanna will be shuttering its book publishing operations by March 2025. Many of you have been with us for many years, some are new to our organization, and all have provided support and inspiration to us over the years. We’ve struggled to keep going since the death of Luciana Ricciutelli in 2020, but the publishing model we’ve been using was not financially viable and we’ve determined that we have neither the financial nor human resources to continue.
However we have some wonderful titles releasing in the meantime, and are doing everything we can to make sure they find as many readers as possible. We’ll be bringing out Power by Sky Curtis in June and Poetry Marching for Sindy by Virginia Pésémapéo Bourdeleau in July. We’ll also be releasing e-book versions of both these titles, as well as Zulaikha, Privacy is a Foreign Word in Supino, Sigrene’s Bargain with Odin, Meadowlands and Lawrencia’s Last Parang.
We also have a new issue of the cws/cf Journal out in June, Cuban Women: Politics, Culture and Revolution. We will be launching this issue on Thursday, June 27th in Toronto. You can learn more about the launch and how to RSVP here. The Journal is planning at this time to continue publishing.
We’ll be searching for a new home for our titles and authors over the next few months. Please check the website for updates.
Again, this is a painful decision but a necessary one. We appreciate all of your support over the years.
